Teaching Assistant News and Views

Many people are looking for that opportunity to start a career as a Teaching Assistant of which is not easy……

Vision Learning Academy recognise this fact and as such offer different ways and advice as to how you can give yourself the best possible opportunity.

Many people are looking to go direct into becoming a Teaching Assistant with very little knowledge as to what to expect when in a classroom environment. It is for this very reason that schools can be so selective upon making a decision to take on a ‘new’ teaching assistant. Many schools would prefer to have candidate CV’s with some knowledge or training behind them prior to just placing them into a classroom as a duty of care towards students must be adhered to at all times. Ask yourself the question – Would you like someone with no experience or knowledge teaching your child?

What Can I Do To Help Me Apply For Jobs?

You have a few choices here in order to make yourself more employable by a school. Below we can look at the different options available to yourself to achieve your goals.

If this is possible then great you have managed to get your ‘foot in the door’ in order to start learning the roles and responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant. It is not however always that easy to take this route. Again many schools will ask what experience or training you have and how you can be a benefit to that particular school, without the necessary skills you may find this stage slightly difficult and as such find yourself in a ‘catch twenty two’ situation.

Step 2: Teaching Assistant Training Courses
